Waikiki Surfing is fun and affordable.
Just walk down Waikiki Beach towards Kapiolani Park and stop at any of the beach stands for lessons and board rentals. It's fun and this is such a great place to try surfing!

Also close to Waikiki--go to Diamond Head and take the trail to the top. Go early in the morning and be rewarded with stuning views of the Oahu coast and Waikiki. Reminder-take water and sunscreen.

The National Cemetery of the Pacific is awe inspiring. Commonly called "The Punchbowl" because it is inside a crater. |

As you enter and leave the National Cemetery of the Pacific you will see a beautiful view of Honolulu and Diamond Head |

The Arizonal Memorial and the grounds at Pearl Harbor are well worth the visit. The recently remodeled visitor center plaza is wonderful. |

The "Mighty MO" the USS Missouri is history brought to life. Plan to spend a few hours on the Mighty Mo.

You can get to the other side of Oahu various ways. One way is to drive the Pali Highway. If you do, take time to stop at the Pali Lookout which looks toward the windward side of the island toward Kaneohe. |

Kailua is a small town with a beautiful, almost hidden beach park. Kailua Beach Park is a great place to relax or get energized by kite surfing.
Lessons for wind and kite surfing and kayaking are readily available in Kailua.

If you are lucky during the winter months when you get to the North Shore a surfing competition will be going on! Rememer, swimming here can be very dangerous and surfing is only for the experts when the waves are high! But what fun to watch. |

Just up from the surfing area of the North Shore is an area called 'Sharks Cove'. If you look closely, you see people not fins in the water. This protected cove is enjoyed by many for snorkeling. Always check the water and wave conditions before entering the water. |

Waimea Bay is beautiful and beyond compare! Opposite the entrance to the beach is an Audubon Preserve which you can also visit.

As you travel back to Waikiki area you will reach Haleiwa Town also famous for surfing and great town to visit.
After leaving Haleiwa head inland and visit the Dole Plantation.

The Blow Hole and spectacular shoreline from Diamond Head toward Hawaii Kai is another direction to take to get to Kaneohe.
This can be a day trip of its own and well worth the time.
