Start Close--go into Diamond Head and take the trail to the top.  Go early in the morning and be rewarded with stunning views of Oahu coast, including Waikiki.  Hint:  Take water and a flash light.

As you leave this area, check out
Hanauma Bay
Visit the National Cemetery of the Pacific.  Commonly called  'The Punchbowl' because it is inside a crater.
As you enter the National Cemetary
of the Pacific, you have a beautiful
view of Honolulu and Diamond Head.
Everyone knows about the Arizona
Memorial at Pearl Harbor, which is well worth a visit.
Take time for another important piece of history:
The "Mighty Mo"
The  "Might Mo",is the USS Missouri. It is an excellent tour and has so much history!
Take time to stop at the lookout at the top of Pali.  This part looks out onto the windward side of the island toward Kaneohe.
Kailua Beach Park.  This beautiful beach is known for wind and sail surfing!

Other Great Beach Parks
As you round the island from Kailua through Kaneohe toward the North Shore you pass many beautiful parks.
This is commonly called China Man's Hat

Then on to the Polynesian Cultural Center
If you are lucky-in the winter when you get to the North Shore a surfing competition will be going on!
Remember, swimming here can be very dangerous and surfing is only for the experts!
Just up from the surfing area of the North Coast is an area called 'Sharks Cove'.  But what you are seeing in the water is many people snorkeling and enjoying a protected cove that is beautiful!
Complete your trip with a visit to Waimea Bay!  This beautiful jewel of a beach will enchant you!
